Mentoring Opportunities for Coms Majors

The Communication Studies Club is partnering with Lambda Pi Eta, the Communication Studies Honors Society, to implement a mentor/mentee program for the 2019-20 academic year. In this program, Coms majors who are further along in their academic program will serve as mentors for students in their first or second years at Cal Poly.
Apply for Student Grants to Fund Learn by Doing Projects

Students interested in conducting hands-on "Learn by Doing" projects can apply for funding provided by the Warren J. Baker and Robert D. Koob Endowment grants. All Cal Poly undergraduate and graduate students are eligible to apply. This funding may be especially helpful for students conducting their senior projects. Students may apply for up to $2,000 for individual projects and $5,000 for collaborative projects.
Dr. Kolodziejski Receives Outstanding Faculty Award at Fall Convocation

In starting the new academic school year, the Communication Studies department is honored to celebrate Dr. Lauren Kolodziejski. Dr. Kolodziejski was the recipient of the 2018-19 Outstanding Faculty Advisor of the Year Award. Presentation of her award was given at the Fall 2019 Convocation event with an address given by Cal Poly President, Jeffrey D. Armstrong.

Coms Students Collaborate on Sea Otter Savvy Program

Communication Studies students in Jeremy Teitelbaum's Small Group Communication class (Coms 217) worked on a class project with the Community Active Wildlife Stewards to improve the Sea Otter Savvy program in spring 2019. The Program helps communicate the need for responsible wildlife viewing of these adorable but fragile creatures.
