Communication Studies Department students and faculty gathered together via Zoom on Thursday, May 27, 2021, to celebrate the end of the year and recognize student achievements. Organized by members of the Communication Studies Club, the banquet serve as an opportunity to meaningfully connect while also recognizing the many outstanding accomplishments of students in the major.

Lambda Pi Eta (LPH), the Communication Studies Honor Society, has concluded their 2021 philanthropic campaign! For their yearly service activity, LPH ran a month-long Book Drive for local schools in San Luis Obispo County.

CLA's 5th Annual Social Justice Teach In

As part of the university’s continuous commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, the annual Social Justice Teach In occurred on Thursday, February 11, 2021 from 8 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. PST over Zoom. This event was open to the campus community and offered a daylong series of workshops that focus on topics related to equity and social justice designed to inform and inspire featuring Cal Poly educators and other professionals.
COMS Career Symposium Winter 2021

The Cal Poly Communication Studies Club hosted their Annual Career Symposium this week. The Symposium every year provides an opportunity for students to learn more about ways that they can use their Communication Studies degree after graduation. This year it was a multi-day event to allow students to drop in and out as they had virtual classes. Although organized by the Cal Poly Communication Studies Club, this event is always open to all Cal Poly students. All majors were welcome to attend!

Communication Studies students, alumni, and faculty members head online this year to attend the 106th Annual convention of the National Communication Association, November 19-22, 2020. Faculty and students in attendance will be presenting original research, sharing best practices in teaching, participating in academic service opportunities, and networking with scholars.
