Dr. Ramasubramanian Speaks on Race & Inclusion

The Communication Studies Department was proud to host Dr. Srividya Ramasubramanian for a talk titled “Campus Climate, Racial Microaggressions, and Inclusive Communication: A Dialogue-Based Approach."  The event took place October 15, 4-5pm in Building #7 (ATL).

Dr. Ramasubramanian is a full professor at Texas A&M University. Her research focuses on media and identity (especially race, gender, sexuality, and religion), media literacy, stereotyping processes, intercultural/ intergroup communication, and social justice. Ramasubramanian has advocated for inclusion, diversity, and media literacy through several journal publications, popular news outlets like TEDx, Huffington Post, National Public Radio, and through talks given around the world including in U.K., Singapore, Australia, China, Netherlands, and India.
