Mentoring Opportunities for Coms Majors
The Communication Studies Club is partnering with Lambda Pi Eta, the Communication Studies Honors Society, to implement a mentor/mentee program for the 2019-20 academic year. In this program, Coms majors who are further along in their academic program will serve as mentors for students in their first or second years at Cal Poly.
Through this program, Communication Studies majors will have the opportunity to assist in giving advice about which classes to take and when, PASS, choosing a minor, ways to get involved in the department, and serve as a contact of support for members that are new to the University. Mentoring others is an excellent skill to have and a great way to be more involved in the Communication Studies department.
Mentees will benefit from having a mentor in that they will have access to a peer that can aid in academic development. If you are interested in being a mentor OR a mentee, please fill out the google form below with your information. If you have questions, feel free to contact the Comm Studies current VP, Brooke Lyon at belyon@calpoly.edu.
