Notes

Dr. Sergio Fernando Juárez (He/Him) joined the Communication Studies department in 2024. Having attended Santa Barbra City College and California State University Channel Islands, Dr. Juárez is a product of the community college and CSU systems. He earned his MA from New Mexico State University and PhD from the University of Denver.

His primary area of focus is on developing equitable pedagogical practices within and outside classroom spaces. His areas of research include critical pedagogies within the field of communication and development of equitable educational practices within institutions to better value multiple forms of intelligence and knowledge. Currently he is an Associate Editor for the Journal of Communication Education, and he recently published a Co-edited book titled Migrant Worldmaking.
