Dr. Kaviani joined the department in 2019. Her areas of expertise are in gender-based violence prevention and response, emotional intelligence, activism, rhetorical principles in gender and sexuality and human development. Her dissertation research focused on the impact smartphones have on the sexual and social intimacy of college-aged males. Her work has been published in the International Journal of Sex Education, Sexuality Society and Learning.
In addition to her academic research and teaching, Dr. Kaviani enjoys bike riding, listening to music, swimming in the ocean, and dancing by herself and with her family and friends.
