Coms Faculty Attend 91st Annual WSCA Convention

Communication Studies faculty members visited Denver, Colorado last week to attend the 91st Annual Convention of the Western States Communication Association which took place on February 21-24, 2020.  

Faculty in attendance presented original research and participated in convention panels. Scheduled conference appearances and speaking events for faculty members include the following:  

Dr. Anuraj Dhillon

  • Considering Communication, Agitation, and Justice as we look to the Future of the IPC Interest Group (Role: Presenter).

Dr. Leslie Nelson

  • An Exploration of Discourses and Themes in Adoption and Child Welfare Policies and Practices in the 19th and 20th Centuries (Role: Presenter). 
  • Agitation and Justice within the Family: Communication, Parenting, and Caregiving (Role: Chair). 

In addition, an honorable mention goes to Coms student Ciara Thompson whose paper titled “Exploring Relationship Conflict in New Girl: A Content Analysis” was accepted at the WSCA Undergraduate Conference.
