Notes

Erin Victoria Zamora (Victoria, she/they) is a passionate educator with extensive teaching experience in higher education. She holds a PhD in Communication from the Hugh Downs School of Human Communication, Arizona State University and currently teaches public speaking, communication theory, and rhetoric in the Communication Studies department at Cal Poly. Aside from their research interests in rhetoric and popular culture, Victoria has extensive experience competing in and coaching international debate, which she shares with the English- and Spanish-language debate teams here at Cal Poly. While completing their masters at Cal State Fullerton, she led a group of masters students who organized and implemented a community engagement initiative aimed at circumventing barriers to higher education for Latine youth in the local community. She is currently engaged in multiple community engagement and research projects that seek to preserve the voices and stories of Latina women across the central coast and create greater civic participation among underserved communities. Both within and outside of the classroom, Victoria advocates for her LGBTQ+, neurodivergent, and disabled students, community, and kin. She resides in community with chosen family amid the peaceful hills of the central coast with their feline familiar, Michel Foucat.
